FATHER JOHN FLANAGAN RIP
It was with great sadness that we learned during the week of the sad passing of our esteemed Club President Fr. John Flanagan. Father Flanagan was curate in Rock & Slatequarry since 1982 and during that time he was instrumental in helping acquire the site where our present club facilities are which were opened in 1998 by the then GAA President Mr. Jack Boothman along with Archbishop Sean Brady and Father Flanagan. An ardent GAA supporter, particularly of his beloved Armagh, a man held in high regard by all who knew him, he will be sorely missed. In Pairc Naomh Padraig Father John Flanagan has played no small part in leaving us a lasting legacy, one for which our club should and will be eternally grateful. On behalf of the committee, sponsors, members and supporters of Rock St. Patricks GFC we pass on our sincere condolences to the family of Father Flanagan. May he Rest in Peace. Many thanks to all our players, coaches and members who helped out over the weekend with the arrival of Fr. Flanagans remains on Thursday, Mass on Friday and the Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday prior to Fr. Flanagans remains being taken to his birthplace of Keady for funeral Mass and burial on Monday. The guard of honour by all from U6's up to Seniors was a fitting tribute to our club president.
