JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Rock defeated Killyman in O'Neill Park Dungannon on Sunday last to
advance to the semi final of the Junior Championship. A strong first
half showing playing into a strong wind saw Rock go in at half time
with a three point lead 1-7 to 1-4, the Rock goal coming from Conor
McCreesh. Despite a Killyman goal from a second penalty early in the
second half which put the teams on level terms, Rock dominated the
remainder of the game with some superb point scoring and ran out
comfortable eight point winners on a final scoreline of Rock 1-16
Killyman 2-5. Rock scorers: Conor McCreesh(1-8), Aidan McGarrity(0-4),
Ryan Crilly(0-1), Eamonn Ward(0-1), Enda McWilliams(0-1), Diarmaid
Carroll(0-1). Rock now play Owen Roes in the semi final.
ACL DIVISION 3
Rock are away to Tattyreagh in the ACL Division 3 on Sunday 24th August, reserves at 2.15pm and seniors at 3.45pm.
U16'S
The U16's are away to Clonoe on Monday 18th Aug. at 7.15pm and away to Gael Naomh Padraig on Monday 25th Aug at 7pm. They are then at home to Tattyreagh on Sat. 30th Aug at 12pm.
LIAM HEANEY & DOYLE/MULHOLLAND CUPS
Our annual U12 tournament for the Liam Heaney and Doyle Mulholland Cups took place at Pairc Naomh Padraig on Wednesday night last and was once again a great success. Eight teams took part, three from Derry and five from Tyrone. Rock U12''s lost their opening game by a single point to Ballinascreen, before going on to defeat Moy and Newbridge. A strong Ballinderry team then defeated us in the semi final of the Liam Heaney Cup. Ballinderry then went on to defeat Ballinascreen in the Liam Heaney Final with Moy defeating Newbridge in the Doyle Mulholland Final. Congratulations to both Ballinderry and Moy and many thanks to the other teams who took part in the tournament, Newbridge, Ballinascreen, Galbally, Loughmacrory and Kildress. Many thanks to youth officer Ciaran Gourley and to all who helped out in any way on the night especially the ladies who provided tea and refreshments and Tasty Bites who catered for all the players. The Rock U12 squad on the night was: Jason Cunningham, Corey McElduff, Ruairi O'Neill, Martin Ward, Shea Daly, Thomas Collins, Jake Lagan, Paul McAweaney(capt.), Odhran Nugent, Eoin Hughes, Aidan Carroll, Ethan Bloomer, Niall O'Neill, Senan Devlin, Thomas Neville.
U12'S
The U12's played their final group game on Monday last at home to Clogher and finished with another win. The boys finished their Go Games group having won six games, drawing one and losing three. Next outing for the U12's is on Sat. 6th Sept at Loughmacrory Tournament and then on Sat. 13th Sept at Magherafelt Tournament.. Next U12 training is Mon. 1st Sept at 6pm.
U13'S
U13 training Tuesday 6.15pm sharp. League commences Thurs. 28th August. All U13 players must attend.
U10'S/U8'S
The U10's took part in Derrytresk blitz on Saturday last and all played well winning their three games against Cookstown, Brocagh and Stewartstown. Thanks to Derrytresk for their hospitality. The U10 squad at the blitz was Corey McElduff, Jason Cunningham, Senan Devlin, Darragh Nugent, James Nugent, Jake Lagan, Paul McAweaney, Aidan Carroll, Matthew Devlin, Brannon Daly, Caoimhin Daly. Next U10 blitz is Sat. 30th Aug. and next U8 blitz is Sat. 23rd Aug. Details at training.
