100 YEAR CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

This year sees the start of our 100 year Centenary Celebrations. Our first event will involve the children in our local Sacred Heart Primary School.

Our competition will see them design a jersey to celebrate our 100th birthday. The competition will run from Monday 4th January - Friday 22nd January and all entries must be returned to the school to be considered.

The lucky winner selected will have their jersey designed by O'Neills Sportswear and their design will be sold as part of our Centenary celebrations.

This year will see a range of events and activities so keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates in the coming weeks.

DEFIBRILLATOR

Recently we completed our installation of our Defibrillator Cabinet outside our pavilion. Up until now we have stored our defibrillator indoors but this cabinet will allow it to be stored safely outside. This is an important step that will benefit our entire community.

The Cormac Trust have contacted us looking 10 members to take part in a CPR & AED training course on how to effectively use the defibrillator to assist an individual experiencing Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Heart disease is the most common cause of unexpected sudden death in all age groups. In people over the age of 40, heart disease is usually due to narrowing or "blockage" of the blood vessels which supply the heart muscle, i.e. coronary artery disease. However, in younger people, the majority of sudden deaths are due to congenital or inherited disorders of the heart muscle and irregular heart rhythms.

The course will cost £28 and last roughly 3 hours. Anyone that would be interested in this course please reply to me through Facebook or by email secretary.rockstpatricks.tyrone@gaa.ie

LAST MAN STANDING

This week the club will be starting a last man standing national league fundraiser, the competition is £10 to enter with prizes from £300 to £500. Please contact us on facebook to enter or see any player or committee member for an entry form.
